Jun 20, 2005· A dead give away on old/newer mills is spindle speed. The old ones seldom went over 500 top end. Common for a "dial type" to go to 1200 or 1500 there abouts. First true dial types (thirties) had both speed and feed dials on the same side plate casting. Look on the left hand vertical way at top and I'll bet you will find a serial number.
