Option 2 : 5.71%

**Given :**

A man loses Rs. 40 by selling a watch for Rs. 660

**Concept used :**

Loss = cost price - selling price

Loss% = (cost price - selling price)/(cost price) × 100

**Calculations :**

According to the question

40 = Cost price - 660

⇒ Cost price = 660 + 40 = 700

Now,

Loss per cent = (700 - 660)/(700) × 100

⇒ 40/7

⇒ 5.71

**∴ Loss per cent is 5.71.**
